I know that you are expecting us to talk about the big sides for week one, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur who actually kicked off their season in their own ground for the first time in a long while.
The winners for us, here at Fantasy Football Club were Burnley, Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield United. Burnley and Brighton for their 3-0 respective wins over Southampton and Watford and Sheffield United’s 1-1 draw against AFC Bournemouth after twelve years away from the top division.
Let’s take a look at these games from a Fantasy perspective and how they could impact FPL going into week two of the Premier League and Fantasy. Burnley’s main protagonists were Ashley Barnes, who we were expecting to do so, Hail Cheaters who are fans, will be happy.

Chris Wood though, was a little bit quite, which the Fantasy Community were not expecting to say the least.
One player though, that did come to the fore was Johann Berg Gudmundsson. The question around Gudmundsson though, would be, will he be able to keep up this “form” – the “” were used, because it is only after one week of the Premier League. Burnley go to Arsenal next weekend and their goalkeeper Nick Pope will be one to watch or have in your FPL side for the game with the Gunners.

Graham Potter drafted into Brighton from Swansea City for the start of this year’s campaign. There was a lot of anx when it came to Graham Potter being appointed Brighton manager, after the sacking of Chris Hughton. People in Brighton were not fans of Potter, but that all changed with their demolition of Watford.
Except for the own goal by Abdoulaye Doucoure it was a perfect performance from the Seasiders. Goals from second half substitute’s Florin Andone and new signing Neal Maupay made the difference, as Brighton ended Watford’s 12 year streak of winning every one of their first games at the start of the season.

Sheffield United may not have won their first game back in the Premier League, but they certainly made their name known to the Fantasy Community. Billy Sharp may have scored the goal for Sheffield on their return, but goalkeeper Dean Henderson certainly showed us why he was such an asset for them in the Championship, on-loan from Manchester United last season.
Thanks to FPL Hints for the shout on new Sheffield United manager on John Lundstrum, hopefully he will get on well with Sheffield this season and many more of us will be bringing him into our sides. It will be interesting, if Sheffield United can win their first game of the season, next week when they host another team that drew on the opening day to Crystal Palace.
