This season, we will put forward our All Ireland XV and see how they get on over the course of the season. We will take a look at it every so often, we will make changes if needed over the course of the season.
Let’s start, this article by taking a look at the formation, starting with the defence and goalkeeper. We are going with Kevin Travers of AFC Bournemouth in our goalkeeper position who comes in at 4.5. He could be a break out player this season, by challenging Asmir Begovic for the Number 1 position in Eddie Howe’s side.
The formation before we look at the defence will be 4-4-2 and will be made up of Shane Duffy – Brighton, Seamus Coleman – Everton, Jonny Evans – Leicester City and Enda Stevens – Sheffield United. That is until Matt Doherty of Wolves comes back from his injury lay-off.
Except for Doherty at 6.0, all the rest of my backline come in at either 5.5 or 5.0. A big cost saving there.
Again, it is four across the midfield with it being made up of mainly claret and blue, except for Everton’s James McCarthy. Conor Hourihane and John McGinn represent newly-promoted Aston Villa, while Robbie Brady and James Hendrick make up my Burnley representation in the midfield.
It will depend then in my striker spots how these three players start the season. David McGoldrick comes in from Sheffield United, while I have two representatives from Southampton in Michael Obafemi and Shane Long.
I would like to invite you all to follow along throughout the season and see how my All Ireland squad gets on.
