In FPL however he comes in at a price tag of 6.0 which I believe will be the bargain of the season and I will explain why.
First of all let’s talk about Trossard as a player. In the Jupiler Pro League last season he started 32 games and scored 14 goals and 7 assists as a midfielder. He his side to a league title last season despite only being 24 years old and is now supposed to start enter his prime. He is a skillful winger who is good with both feet and is good cutting inside from the left. Reminds me a little bit of Eden Hazard when I see him. He is obviously not nearly at the level as Hazard yet but the similarities are there.
I also know that people will say that the Belgium league is nowhere near the level of the PL but Trossard also delivered in the Europa League aswell. 3 goals and 1 assist in 6 games while averaging 2.3 shots per game. These stats are very impressive for a midfielder in the Europa League and the Jupiler Pro League.
Lets now talk about Brighton because I know people will see what happened to Jahanbaksh last season. He dominated the Eredivisie the season before he arrived at Brighton but didn’t register a single goal or assist. I believe that that Trossard arrives at a better time with the club changing their manager this season.
I am from Sweden and have been following Graham Potter’s progress in Ostersund. A small club from a small town which he took to the Europa League and even managed to beat Arsenal at the Emirates but unfortunately they didn’t progress. Potter really revolutionized Swedish football with the way his team attacked and held possession of the ball. Now he is taking over as the manager of Brighton and I think they will attack a lot more now than under Hughton.
This means that I think that Trossard will be a great pick in this FPL season with Graham Potter as a new manager and Trossard being a very promising player entering his prime. At only 0,5% ownership I think that he will be a big differential to start the season with good opening fixtures as well.
