Of course, as with everything there are pitfalls to avoid but hopeful these tips will help out….
Don’t worry about how many followers you have…
Yes, its great to be loved! But if all you post is related to how many followers you have or want to have, people are going to get bored. Fast.
By now, the FPL Twitter community has most bases covered – There are podcasts, YouTube channels, stats accounts, and even accounts devoted to individual teams. So your best bet is to be an active member and interact with these accounts. They will respond and even give you “shout outs” for your input. If you are active and contributing, the followers will come.
Not all accounts are so great…
Shock horror! Some social media accounts are set up to be controversial or even just plain nasty. The key here is firstly, not to join in with these accounts as they try to bully others but also not to allow yourself to get angry with them. If you don’t like it, unfollow it and just read tweets from those contributing to this great community
Don’t underestimate what you can bring to the party…
I know, I said the community has got it covered, but everyone has a bit of niche knowledge.
For instance, there is a great account I follow that is owned by a Burnley fan – he is well worth listening to on all matters Burnley related (Although he nearly has me convinced I need Ashley Barnes, so there are dangers too!) Figure out what your special bit of knowledge is and hit us with it!
Let’s have a laugh…
Finally, you need a sense of humour. Most accounts are here for the “craic” (Sorry – I’m from Ireland!) Don’t be surprised to see everything from an FPL meme to a full-blown parody video. We need to remember that ultimately, we are all just playing a game, and what’s the point in a game if it’s not fun!
Hope to see you on Twitter if you’re not already ad look forward to a bit of the craic with you.
