At the minute, AFC Bournemouth have had no transfer news or major targets bar Luton Town player Jack Stacey. It looks like Bournemouth and Celtic will go head to head for the Luton Town star over the course of the Summer.
Back to the current crop of Bournemouth players in FPL for the upcoming season, we look at the prospects of weeping the rewards of having “The Cherries” in our squads.
We will begin with three of the players that could actually end up moving on from the south coast before the transfer window closes. Nathan Ake, Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser, three heavy hitters, coming in at 5.0, 8.0 and 7.5 respectively could all move on with Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal all interested in signing each player.
If these three players stay, I for one will definitely have these players (at least one) of them in my Fantasy side throughout the season. If we have a look at Bournemouth’s opening seven fixtures, if we take out Manchester City, their fixtures actually look quite healthy.
Depending, if Eddie Howe can bring in some more talent perhaps from the lower divisions in England and Scotland, shore up the defence and add maybe a little bit more quality to the midfield, then Bournemouth could be FPL gold.
Let’s also now take a look at some FPL talent for AFC Bournemouth who could come to the fore and step up, make the difference for the side this season. Asmir Begovic could make a good option at goalkeeper level at 4.5, for example I have Matthew Ryan and Alex McCarthy who are both 4.5 and if Bournemouth start off well, then I could bring in the Bosnian for one of the two.
At the back, he was brought in last season from Brentford AFC and didn’t gain many points in FPL, but this season could be different. If Manchester City bring in Nathan Ake as one of their targets, then surely Chris Mepham will surely take his chance and step up to be one of Bournemouth’s “men at the back”
David Brooks and Jefferson Lerma who is coming back from the Copa America could be great alternatives to Ryan Fraser if the Scot leaves this Summer. Both players come in at 6.5 and 5.0 respectively and both could have great season’s for AFC Bournemouth. I’ll watch and see how Brooks and Lerma start off at the season’s start, maybe I’ll pick them up, maybe I won’t.
Other than Brooks and Lerma, hopefully the players such as Junior Stanislas and Jordan Ibe will step up and create some competition for Brooks and Lerma.
Let me know what you think, let me know if you will be picking AFC Bournemouth players at the start of the season for throughout the season.
