Looking at the Arsenal squad from an individual point of view, they are all great players, but if you put them all in a collective unit that is Arsenal, they suddenly, stop being so great. This may very well be another season of woe for Arsenal supporters and FPL in general.

The only real bright spark in the Arsenal squad from last season, came at the top end of the pitch, the two strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, who between them, scored 35 goals, allowing both to gain 205 points and 166 points in FPL respectively last season.

I’ve been looking through the Arsenal squad and their FPL prices have taken such a tumble, it is truly mind-blowing. If we start with the German talisman, Mesut Ozil, his price has taken quite a nose-dive this Summer especially. I remember back when Mesut Ozil first came into the game, he was in the 12.0+ bracket, so it is truly off-putting to see his price drop so significantly.

Arsenal’s defence seems to be one big mish-mash of unwanted defenders and defenders that could do so much better. Mustafi, Monreal and Koscielny are all on the wrong side of 30 and certainly getting on in years. New blood needs to be brought in by Unai Emery very quickly, for Arsenal’s sake I hope they bring in new players and blood them in, like Kieran Tierney, but rumours on that signing seem to be dead in the water.

I can’t believe I just seen that Carl Jenkinson is still playing for Arsenal and is getting a pay check, when will he leave, when will Unai Emery kick him out. Maybe, this could be Jenkinson’s season to prove all of his doubters wrong and make a name for himself with Arsenal and FPL.

The Arsenal midfield like the defence looks to be a bit overloaded with talent that could get lost in the mire. There is a number of talented players in the Arsenal midfield to choose from, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mo Elneny, Alex Iwobi, Mesut Ozil etc, but would you really want to go near them given that the squad and team in general are so open to conceding goals and the formation could be a hassle for us Fantasy managers to get our heads around.

But, perhaps I’m wrong. Unai Emery has had a full season to bed in with his new Arsenal side. Things could be great for Arsenal once the transfer window comes and goes. Other than Wilfried Zaha, let’s have a look at some of the players that could turn this article upside down.

Jumping off of the Arsenal transfers page of Sky Sports News, Unai Emery could possibly use his Spanish “knowledge” and bring in two stars from Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively in the form of Dani Ceballos and Malcom.
