Over the past 2 seasons, left-back has been a problem area for Man City.

After being plucked from the Monaco squad that had all their young star players swept up after an extraordinary season in 16/17, it was expected that Mendy is the answer to solve City’s left-back problem for the next decade. This was complicated when he suffered an ACL injury which ruled him out from September to April, essentially the entire season.
