My journey in MLS Fantasy kind of happened by accident. It basically started back in the 2009 season of Major League Soccer or MLS. Back when Robbie Keane was playing for LA Galaxy and Kevin Doyle a fellow Wexford man was playing for the Colorado Rapids. I’ve tried my best of stay playing MLS Fantasy throughout the season.

Doing this over the seasons after 2009 has been tough to do while playing it alongside FPL. I would usually fall off and FPL would eventually take over, I would become what’s called in FPL circles as a “ghost ship”. If you do not know what a ghost ship is, then check out the Hail Cheaters podcast.

Anyway, back to MLS Fantasy and my journey with it. I’ve of course tried to write blogs and articles around MLS Fantasy during this time. But, unfortunately it again has fell off over the course of the season.

This season however, I have done MLS Fantasy differently. I took a step back and managed myself as well as my team. I pick my team and then use the “set and forget” mentality. That has allowed me to still be invested in my team and MLS Fantasy but also, not be too “into” my side.

So, at the minute, I’ve just started the fall season with my side. At the minute, my side sit on 31 points with one game to play. I plan on sticking with MLS Fantasy until the season is over in October.

I hope to bring the same pragmatism that I use in MLS Fantasy to FPL and manage my team in the same way. Use the “set and forget” mentality. If you want to in our MLS Fantasy League, simply click here.
